Due to openness of the PS4 filesystem you can do this process in similar fashion on it (with a bit more complexity of course because it's still not as open as Windows) and Xbox is the hardest nut to crack because their filesystem is completely encrypted. You can see the files, do whatever you want and run whatever you want on Windows in the background and why it's the easiest platform to cheat on. This is why I started off this post with the access to the filesystem. You have to have access to the filesystem so you can run/insert an executable and run it so it runs in memory, OR, modify the original executables and replace them on the filesystem so when the game normally runs the new "patched" file will run and inject the hacks into memory. Usually today, the hackers who make these cheats will have a separate program running in memory that intercepts the executable of the game files and does it in real time (everything I described to you above). The way I explained it is pretty old way of doing it.
